TODAY'S LESSON: POWER
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
II Tim. 1:7
There's all kinds of power:
Power of the press,
Power of the people,
Power aerobics,
Power bars,
and the list goes on,
but there's one kind of power
that we should strive for:
John 1:12 says,
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
You know what that tells me?
That as a Christian I am a son of God.
("sons of God" refers to us gals too!)
Is that cool or what?
Matthew 28:18 says:
And Jesus came and spake unto them saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
So, if Jesus is God's son and he has all power, then shouldn't we?
I mean afterall he said that we were sons of God too.
Well yes, as Christians we are sons of God and we do have power, but that power comes through Christ alone.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Still not satisfied that you've got the power?
Listen to this
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isaiah 40:29
Physical, mental, spiritual.
It doesn't matter.
In John 15:7 Jesus said,
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you..
Remember,
IF GOD BRINGS YOU TO IT, HE WILL BRING YOU THROUGH IT!
