TODAY'S LESSON: PRAYER
Have you ever had a conversation with a friend? Well, that's what PRAYER is;a conversation
with a friend. But not just any friend...God, and the best part is that we get to talk to him
any time we want. There are 3 basic things to remember about prayer:
1. PRAYER IS A TWO WAY CONVERSATION
a. You talk to God and he listens. Thank him for the day you've
had and for all the wonderful things he's given you, the people
that have helped you through rough times. Then pray for those
around you that might be sick or maybe you've got a big test
coming up at school and you need his help so that you can re-
member what you learned.
b. Now, it's God's turn. You've told him how you feel and now it's
his turn to tell you how it is. Afterall, he's God and he created
us. Who better to make the final decision.
2. Remember our lesson about the egg? God is 3 in 1. We pray to
God the father in Jesus's name. Why? Because I said so, NO,
because God said so. In John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me".
3. GOD ALWAYS ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS
There are three answers that God gives to prayer:
a.YES
b. NO
c. WAIT
YES AND NO ARE PRETTY EASY TO UNDERSTAND BUT WAIT ISN'T THAT EASY
SOMETIMES ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IMPATIENT. SOMETIMES OTHER THINGS HAVE
TO HAPPEN BEFORE GOD CAN ANSWER YOUR PRAYER. REMEMBER, HE ALREADY
KNOWS WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN, BUT WE DON'T. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED FREE
WILL. ONE MORE THING. JUST BECAUSE YOU ASK GOD FOR SOMETHING DOESN'T
MEAN YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT. HERE, LET ME EXPLAIN:
WHEN I WAS JUST 13 YEARS OLD MY BROTHER DIED. HE WAS VERY YOUNG AND
VERY SICK. FOR MONTHS MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS PRAYED THAT HE WOULD GET
WELL, BUT HE DIDN'T. WHEN HE DIED THEY BLAMED GOD AND QUESTIONED HIM.
THEY WONDERED WHY HE HADN'T ANSWERED THEIR PRAYERS. HE HAD, JUST NOT
THE WAY THEY WANTED HIM TOO.
YOU SEE, GOD IS IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING AND HE KNOWS WHAT EACH ONE
OF US NEEDS SO WHEN YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND TRUST HIS HEART.
